Tableau Integration
PushMetrics supports seamless integration with Tableau Server and Tableau Online, allowing you to connect your dashboards and embed Tableau visualizations in reports, notifications, or workflows.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:
- A Tableau Server or Tableau Online account
- Personal Access Token (PAT) credentials: Token Name & Token Secret
- The Site Name of your Tableau environment (if applicable)
- Network access: If your Tableau Server is behind a firewall, allow inbound connections from the PushMetrics IP address: 18.156.113.81/32
⚠️ If you’re using SSO (MFA, SAML, OAuth), PAT credentials are required to authenticate.
Steps to Connect Tableau
1. Open Integrations in PushMetrics
Navigate to Data & Integrations and click Tableau
2. Fill in Tableau Connection Details
Complete the form as shown in the screenshot:
Display Name: A friendly name for your connection (e.g., Tableau).
Tableau URL: Your Tableau Server or Online instance URL, e.g. https://tableau.domain.com.
Site Name: Find this in your Tableau URL after /site/, e.g. https://.../#/site/your-sitename/.
PAT Name: Your Personal Access Token name.
PAT Secret: The secret value for your PAT.
Max Age: Cache duration (in minutes). Set to 0 to always fetch a fresh copy from Tableau.
4. Adjust Advanced Options (Optional)
Expand Advanced Options to configure additional parameters if required.
5. Test & Save
Click Next to validate the connection and save your integration.
